Founders Hall Renovation, Naugatuck Valley Community College
Founders Hall serves as the new home for the college's Center for Health Sciences. This $44 million project entails 85,000-square-feet of comprehensive renovations and additions to the former NVCC engineering building to create a new facility designed to house a variety health sciences related programs including nursing, emergency medical technician, diagnostic imaging, physical therapy, surgical technician, respiratory therapy and home care.
The new building will include patient simulator labs, classrooms, faculty and administrative offices, computer labs, student study areas, a collaborative learning classroom, a lecture hall and a multipurpose room seating over 300 people and will also serve nursing students from WCSU and UCONN Waterbury. Construction began in the Spring of 2015 and was completed in 2017. This project is certified as LEED Gold.
