21 Griffin Road North
The owner’s design goals were to create a flexible, single story floor plan with several pronounced entrances including vehicle drop-off offering from 5,000 to 50,000-square-feet without creating the appearance of a large box-like structure. Interior space dimensions were required to have no more than 45 feet to an exterior window wall.
The solution was to create a simple modified cross shape in plan with entrance points at the intersections of the wings. The wings varied in the plan from 5,000 to 15,000-square-feet and are 90 feet in width. The building core and common facilities are located at the intersection of the wings. Massive brick piers are offset against window walls and curtain walls to further create the tenant image of individual identity rather than a single block plan with very long boring facades. Moser Pilon Nelson provided planning and design for another similar building on an adjacent site in Griffin Office Center.
Moser Pilon Nelson provided the interior planning and design for Johnson Controls, one of the major building tenants.
